Yannis Triphylis is an Executive Committee Member in the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping. He is an experienced shipping executive with 20 years of direct involvement in various shipping projects requiring technical, commercial and legal competence.
Apart from having served as a Director and been a Shareholder in his family’s firm, Gourdomichalis Maritime SA, he has served as the Managing Director of LydiaMar and has been a client of Ariston Navigation since 2014.
He has earlier experience working in the fields of investment banking (Hill Samuel Bank, London), fund management (ErgoInvest SA, Athens), and venture capital (Syntek AG, Milan).
He is currently a long-standing member of the Executive Committee and BoD of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the BoD of the UK Defense Club, the Executive Committee of Intercargo, the BoD Seafarers Employment Agency, the Foreign Affairs committee of the Union of Greek Shipowners and serves as Treasurer of the Hellenic Maritime Museum BoD. He has also served several terms on the Piraeus Marine Club’s BoD since 2006 and was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of Eliamep, Greece’s foremost Foreign Policy independent Think Tank.
Mr Triphyllis graduated from Harvard College in 1994 CumLaude with a double major in Economics & International Relations.
